Bastien Gomez was born in 1994 in Paris, France. After a Bachelor in visual communication in Geneva, he graduated in photography from ECAL in Lausanne in 2018. He also studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York during an international exchange.
Bastien’s photographic work is between documentary and fictional story. He takes part of the narrative potential of photography through still lifes and gestures to explore the opaque environment of political and economic power. He has a strong interest into symbols, connotations and aesthetic values that his poetic and critical images can translate.
Bastien is currently based in Paris where he works for commercial projects, editorial as well as artistic collaborations. He is also teaching at HEAD-Geneva as part of an introductory course on contemporary photography.
